Blaine Francis
Senior Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Team Leader
Blaine is one of 3 Occupational Therapy Team Leaders and has been with IRS since 2019. Blaine graduated in Occupational Therapy from La Trobe University in 2013 before gaining foundational experience in public sector inpatient and community mental health at Monash and Alfred Health. These transferable skills then launched his nearly decade-long career in the specialised world of community neuro.
Blaine has particular interest in working with clients post stroke, with ABI and dual diagnosis including complex mental health presentations. Blaine has always been very passionate about understanding the person, building rapport and ensuring trust with clients to reach their absolute potential.
Blaine has experience supporting clients with:
- Upper Limb Rehabilitation
- Functional Capacity Assessments
- Mental Health (dual diagnosis)
- Complex equipment prescription
- Holiday and respite planning
Blaine prides himself on supporting others to develop their clinical and professional growth and in 2024 took on the role of Occupational Therapy Team Leader. Since then he has continued to develop his leadership skills and business acumen to support IRS.
Outside of work, Blaine enjoys maintaining his lawn, gardening, watching the Blue Boys and keeping active with his 3 kids.
This year Blaine will celebrate 7 years with IRS.
