Delivering a Tele-wheelchair assessment provides significant benefits for both clients and clinicians.
The need to deliver our Occupational Therapy services remotely using a Telehealth platform has increased significantly. One of the most common and important services we provide to our clients is a wheelchair assessment. The ability to deliver an assessment remotely provides enormous time saving and convenience benefits for both our clients and our clinicians.
However, as a relatively new area of practice, it also provides a number of practical challenges. So our team lead by Ana Brown, Occupational Therapy Deputy Team Leader and Lead Allied Health Researcher together with Shannon Rothschild, Occupational Therapist undertook research on the subject from which we have developed an evidence based Telewheelchair guide for our Occupational Therapists.
