The situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) is changing constantly and we want to reassure you that our dedicated team at Independent Rehabilitation Services is committed to providing therapy services to you safely and effectively.
What we are doing to help keep you safe
- Closely following the advice of both the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments as the trusted source of coronavirus related information.
- Ensuring our staff follow coronavirus infection control procedures including regular and thorough hand washing and frequent use of hand sanitiser.
- Practising social distancing.
- Asking our clients screening questions to identify anyone at risk.
- Ensuring any staff who are ill do not return to work until they have medical clearance from their doctor.
If you are thinking of cancelling your appointment
We know that some clients are concerned about their safety and want to cancel their appointment. We understand your concerns and respect your right to cancel. However we strongly encourage you to discuss this with your therapist first to determine if this is the best option for you. With many services being cut, we believe your therapist can play an important role in helping you manage.
Please call your therapist (03) 9885 2533 to discuss your situation if you are thinking of cancelling a session.
We continue taking referrals for Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology
There has been a significant increase in referrals and our dedicated team of therapists have been able to absorb the increased workload. We are playing an important role in helping our clients cope with the current situation in this challenging time.

Telehealth online video therapy coming soon
Our team has been working hard to prepare for the delivery of our services using online video conferencing. We put you at the centre of our therapy and our Telehealth service will be designed to meet our high clinical standards and support you to achieve your goals.
We will be launching our Telehealth service in the coming weeks and your therapist will provide more information if they believe it will benefit you.
Identifying COVID-19 symptoms
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 infection include
- Breathing difficulties, breathlessness
- Sore throat
- Fatigue or tiredness.
