Kate Thomson
Senior Occupational Therapist
Kate completed her degree in Edinburgh in 2002. Since then she has worked in a variety of settings, the majority of which have been community rehabilitation. In the last 10 years Kate has focussed her intervention on supporting those with neurological conditions.
She has been involved in setting up a pilot clinic focussing on wheelchair skills and community access, and assisting with the development of a postural management pathway in Edinburgh. Since relocating to Australia in 2017 she has continued to work in community rehabilitation, and has continued to develop knowledge and skills in her area of passion, postural management.
Kate is an ardent advocate for her clients, supporting them to work on their goals, and encouraging self-management.
Outside of work Kate enjoys travelling, beach days and hikes with her husband and kids, and watching soccer.
This year Kate will celebrate 5 years with IRS and is currently on extended leave.
