Ashlee Burns

Ashlee is a Senior Physiotherapist who has worked with neurological clientele for 7 years, having worked across the acute hospital, subacute hospital, and community settings.

From this, Ashlee has developed a strong understanding of neurological rehabilitation. Ashlee has a particular interest in treating clients post spinal cord injury, stroke, and traumatic brain injury. She treats each of her clients with an individualised, goal orientated, and holistic approach.

Ashlee is passionate about positively impacting and changing her clients lives, aiming for greater independence with mobility, and an overall improved quality of life.

  • Ashlee has extensive experience supporting clients in managing:
  • Altered gait patterns
  • Hemiplegia
  • Tonal changes and spasticity
  • Postural changes
  • Falls
  • Vestibular conditions
  • Return to running and high level activity

Ashlee can provide support in the following areas:

  • Aquatic therapy (hydrotherapy)
  • Gym based therapy
  • In home therapy
  • Hands on facilitation and treatment
  • Sports and recreation
  • Specialised equipment and assistive technology inclusive of wheelchairs, standing frames, mobility aids, and transfer aids

Ash thrives off seeing her clients achieve their goals, especially when centred around community participation and improved quality of life.

Outside of work, Ash loves spending time with her puppy Lenny, soaking up the sun, and catching up with friends.

This year Ashlee will celebrate 1 year with IRS.
