Community Neuro Rehabilitation

Permanent Full Time (38 hours a week). Part time options available.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 + 11% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading and travel remuneration

You are an OT who is:

Independent Rehabilitation Services is a multidisciplinary allied health practice, specialising in community rehabilitation with adults with neurological conditions. We are extremely passionate about our community-based, person-centred approach, which produces the best outcomes for our clients and their families. Your day to day

You’ll be supported –  We make sure your transition into a new workplace is smooth and supported. Whether this is your first community rehab job, or you’re experienced in the sector, we’ve got you covered with our extensive induction program, clinical and professional supervision, mentoring, and our unique Resilience Buddy Program. We aim to give you a mixed caseload with a range of levels of complexity so that you have the opportunity to grow through challenges, and feel a sense of accomplishment with client wins.

You’ll have variety – Every day is different. You’ll see clients with neurological conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury, and support them to maximise their independence at home with their ADLS, and in the community with leisure activities, return to work and driving, and holiday plans. You might also be involved in supporting a client with assistive technology, home modifications or reviewing their support services.

You’ll help clients achieve their goals – Using an evidence-based approach through assessment, intervention, goal setting and outcome measurement, as well as some creativity. Our clinicians find this an incredibly rewarding and satisfying aspect of the role. You’ll also be liaising with external providers, such as TAC and NDIS, and suppliers to advocate for your clients – from phone calls with support coordinators and members of the multidisciplinary team, to writing reports and requests to ensure your clients’ needs are met.

We’ll support you to achieve your goals – As well as supervision and mentoring, we have a dedicated Career Journey Program as you commit to lifelong learning and working on your own career goals. We are invested in your growth as a clinician. You’ll also have an opportunity to supervise and mentor other members of the MDT, as well as supervise students on clinical placement if this lights your fire. You’ll have access to internal and external professional development opportunities. Some of our internal PD includes journal club and case study/PD feedback lunches.

You’ll be part of a team – As a valued member of the OT team, you’ll be actively involved in team meetings, social catch-ups and opportunities to participate in projects. You’ll also be involved in MDT clinical work, staff meetings and social activities.
